The Video installation "Time is change" lets visitors play
with the past in order to gain a new feeling for time, for the current
moment as just one moment in the flow of moments.
The exhibit records the last 30 minutes as an animation (one image
every 5 seconds) using a video camera and a computer fitted with a frame-grabbing
card. Two monitors are used: the left one always shows the just recorded
image, and the right one shows the image which occurred at the time
which the visitor has set.
Users can let an earlier time run parallel to the current time and
compare, or they can play the past as a film, forwards and backwards,
fast or slow. Built in 2000, for Science
