The Bremen Science Center opened in summer 2000. The project was conceived
and carried out as a partnership between the University and the city
of Bremen. It has been partially funded as an external Expo 2000 project.
The center is intended to generate enough revenue to cover its maintenance
and running costs.
Visitors can experience many aspects of the science of their environment,
loosely grouped in three themes: Cosmos, Earth and Mankind. The presentation
is a mix of staging, audio-visual, interactive exhibits and activities,
which help to provide a stimulating and rounded experience.
As the Universum is one of the first major Science Centers in Germany
it will be interesting to see how the science center ideal is taken
up by German audiences.
Concepts Plus built four exhibits for the new Science Center, which
you can learn about in more detail in our exhibits list: Storm in the desert, Power Converter,
Warped Space und Time is change.
