Using the exhibit

Today almost anything is possible in image creation and editing with a computer; take, for example, the computer generated characters of current children´s films. This exhibit sets out to demonstrate some of the important basic processes that are used in image editing, allowing users to do it for themselves.

The left screen displays the original image as a continual comparison. This image can be selected from four categories, including the possibility to capture your own image with a video camera.

The right screen shows the edited image, and the menu list on this screen shows the editing tools that are available. Many of these offer variations, which can be set on the special screen dedicated to each of the tools.

Effects can be applied individually - in order to compare the results to the original or to other effects, or additively one after the other - to create unique and abstract results. Video Image Editing was built in 1999, for the Technical Museum, Vienna.
